InfoReady is implemented to manage impromptu voting, much to everyone's surprise.
During a Texas Tech University Staff Senate meeting, and issue arose wherein a vote was required. The Staff Senate needed attendees to submit responses regarding assisting members of the TTU community affected by the Trump administration’s Travel Ban. There was discussion about collecting votes via email, using free voting tools, or just outright postponing the vote.
Fortunately for all, champion outside-the-box thinker Dustin Delano was in attendance that day!
Delano is an Administrator for the Office of the Vice President for Research at TTU, and is very familiar with InfoReady’s flexibility and ease of implementation.
Here’s what he did:
- Dustin created a competition called “Staff Senate Vote.”
- The resolutions were entered as individual applications to the competition. Draft wording and photos were uploaded as part of the applications for senators wishing to learn more about each resolution, or provide feedback.
- Every member of the Staff Senate was assigned as a reviewer and were asked to vote “yay or nay” using the ‘approve/do not approve’ routing step type.
- Responses were exported as a spreadsheet to quickly sort and count the results.
- The voting process was smooth and efficient, and TTU’s Staff Senators were very happy that day.
