LHE in Philadelphia: Leadership in a Hurricane of a Different Sort
A year ago, October 9, 2024, Hurricane Milton swept across the State of Florida. The eye passed just south of Orlando, the site of the Leadership in Higher Education conference. With less than 24 hours to spare, with the airport and the city boarding itself up, conference organizers made the wise but difficult decision to cancel the event. They effectively postponed the event by one year, to reconvene in Philadelphia. And that moment has arrived.
And, wow... how the higher ed universe has changed since October of '24. We find ourselves in a hurricane of a different sort.
Looking at the agenda for this week, many of the topics to be discussed, at this new moment, are outright brave.
LHE in Philadelphia will be an important conference. We look forward to hearing academic leaders talk about the challenges they face for the road ahead. This content is vital.
